Our teams took some extra time on their breaks today to have a cuppa, enjoy a few buns and have a chat with one another! 💛
With so many of us still working at home, it can be hard to maintain the same level of communication with the outside world and this can unfortunately lead to poor mental health.
· Check in on your friends, family and colleagues who may feel isolated, sending a text or having a video call could start a life changing conversation.
· Grab a coffee/lunch with a friend or colleague and have a chat, that small interaction could make the difference to someone’s day.
We want everyone to feel comfortable talking about mental health – whenever and wherever. These conversations can be life changing so however you do it, start your conversation this #TimeToTalk Day.
1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem in any given year.
Sadly, the Construction industry is still facing a major mental health crisis. The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) published a report in 2020 on the issue. They asked over 2,000 Construction professionals about their mental health with some shockingly high results; 91% felt overwhelmed, 70% experienced depression and 87% experienced anxiety. These high figures are preventable with the right support!
Today, let us all take a big step forward in caring for our own mental health by opening up to others about our struggles, actively listening to others when they are opening up to us and caring about what they are saying.
