COMMERCIAL MANAGER

Summary:
We’re looking for a talented and experienced Commercial Manager to join our dynamic team at our Ballymena headquarters. In this key role, you’ll take ownership of project budgets and cost control across large-scale construction projects. You’ll be responsible for sourcing essential services and resources, negotiating with suppliers to secure the best value, and overseeing projects to ensure they stay on track and within budget.
This role also requires strong management skills, as you’ll be responsible for allocating tasks within your team and overseeing their performance to ensure high standards are consistently met. Excellent planning, leadership, and communication skills are essential, as you’ll be monitoring progress closely to meet key deadlines and deliver successful outcomes.
The Role:
- Overseeing the financial management of projects
- Recognising business opportunities
- Putting together bids to win new business
- Negotiating and agreeing contracts
- Strategically expanding, preserving, or improving company procedures, standards, or policies
- Adhering to regulatory guidelines.
- Complete monthly review of contract results and performance
- Carry out cashflow and Work in Progress reporting
- Manage and/or prepare the monthly commercial reports for presentation at the Project
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance
- Manage and review cost to complete forecasts
- Ensure all valuations are submitted on time
- Maximise monthly valuations
- Ensure timely collection of cash
- Deal with claims preparation, final account negotiation and settlement
- Manage the compensation event process including timely submission with cost information
Person Specification:
- At Least 15yrs Electrical Engineering Experience, demonstrating onsite and managerial experience
- 5-10yrs commercial experience within Electrical Industry
- Demonstrate contractual awareness and implementation of T&C’s within commercial management procedures
- A good level of competency of Microsoft packages, particularly Excel
- Self-motivation, passion and a driven ‘can do’ attitude
- A high level of diplomacy and customer focus
- The ability to anticipate problems and ensure early intervention
- Ability to handle multiple clients, forms of contract and methods of measurement
- Flexibility - ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to cope in high pressure situations
